Bahrain Grand Prix
I am not a car fan girl and barely know a thing about racing but this was SO much fun. If you’re willing to learn a little bit about the drivers, watch their placings, and don’t mind loud noise and 7w6qan energy of excitement – this is the place for you! It won’t be long before you’re egging on your favourite rally car racer, taking a break for a feast at one of the delicious food stalls, or enjoying the music or presence of an international celebrity (Kygo, David Beckham!) that has been lined up for entertainment. Oh, and on the last day, we were allowed onto the track! I will never forget the enthusiasm and charm of Lewis Hamilton’s crew who threw themselves onto the track in celebration after his dramatic win over Charlie Leclerc (and his sad power failure) and Valtteri Bottas. I never even knew these names before I arrived to the Bahrain F1 but it’s amazing how the practice and qualifying rounds get you completely geared up for the final!
Tribfest
This popular event is held twice a year in Spring and Autumn at the huge Bahrain Rugby Club facilities and it’s a day to put in your diaries! Tribute acts of currently popular singers and bands are flown in from the UK… over 20 of them from 10am to 10pm!
Sofitel Halloween Party
You will never ever need to go to another Halloween party in your life. Tick. International DJ on a massive stage. Dance floor amongst a cast of hundreds. Unlimited forays to the delicious food stalls. Shisha and drinks on a private island with a massive dance floor. There is nothing else that comes close. Granted, Bahrain offers multiple Halloween parties but this is next level amazing. Ladies, you will probably not need to pay for drinks. Oh, did I mention onstage prizes??
Visit a mall
To experience life on the daily like a local, head along to the local mall. It might seem simple, but it’s one of those unforgettable people watching experiences. Go to the local Lulu Hypermarket and then get a coffee at Starbucks and just sit and observe…
Wahooo Water Park
No that’s not a typo!! It’s hard to recall how many o’s are in the title of this fun park! Suitable for families and individuals with energy, this park reveals its most thrilling waterslides to those with the most courage. On those terribly hot days in summer, this is the ideal way to spend a day with a restless family!
Al Areen Wildlife Park & Reserve
Granted this place is still on my bucket list but I am told that this Bahraini zoo is a great place to take families for 3-4 hours. It’s best during the cooler climate month678902345678907q2s, otherwise the animals are too hot and bothered to move from their position.
