. . | Four year flashback | . This is one of my favourite places in Australia: Pulpit Rock in the Blue Mountains. It’s a bit of a mission to find but well worth it. . The whole region is full of tracks and paths that lead to phenomenal vistas, canyons and waterfalls. . With small towns, Airbnb’s and family run bed and breakfasts pocketed around the region, it’s one of the best places to pack a small bag and get away from the hustle and bustle of Sydney for a weekend. . The mountains change colour at sunrise and sunset, hence the name of the region. Situated 2.5 hours drive and a 30 minute boat trip from Abu Dhabi, do not let this opportunity pass you by! . We stayed in the Savannah-inspired lodge called Al Sahel, a sizeable villa with private outdoor pool that allows photography of the animals up close. . . Found myself at the top of Jebel Hafeet on the first night of the recent Eid break in UAE. . Located near Al Ain, about an hour’s drive from Abu Dhabi, you’ll find yourself on the land border overlooking Oman. The rugged towering mountain shapes are incredible and the colours in the sky at sunset are remarkable. . Covid has messed about with us all but especially the Seychelles who are heavily reliant on tourism. Word on the street is that they are likely to be accepting tourists again come mid March, once they have vaccinated at least 75% of the population! . . . I spent 2 weeks on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi being totally mesmerised by the sunrises! . The views from Yas Rotana over the F1 track are just phenomenal and would be a prime hotel to stay at during the races later this year. (Non sponsored post!). . . . The Bolivian salt flats are the most amazing (and world’s largest!) and provide some really fun photos if you bring along even some simple props. This was quite a few years ago but I’ve got memories of me popping out of a beer bottle, being attacked by a plastic T-Rex toy & being peer pressured into reenacting the Kirsten Dunst upside down kiss with a Spider-Man toy. 😂 . My tour group affectionately became known as the ‘Wall Lickers’ after we decided to take some tequila to our salt hotel ... and ... well ... 🤷🏼‍♀️ . The largest populations of Hawksbills are found in the Caribbean, the Seychelles, Indonesia and Australia. . I’m certainly going to miss these Seychellois breakfasts: fresh tropical fruits and juice, crepes, eggs any way one pleases (Spanish omelette please), meats, cheeses, yoghurt, sausages, mushrooms and a selection of breads. . . We have travelled around the Seychelles trialling different modes of accommodation. Options include various resorts, boutique hotels and now we are on to self catering accommodation at the highly rated Villas de Jardin in Port Glaud, Mahé. . Pros: impeccable view, secluded, Covid safe, no wake up time to get to breakfast, 100m^2 sized villas, drinks on the balcony overlooking the bay. . Cons: breakfast not included: that’s it! (Luckily we stocked up on breakfast bacon and sausages at ISPC and local eggs, cheese, tomatoes and mushrooms with fresh fruit and yoghurt for starters!!) .
